Dug out the 📷 to see life differently • “Ev Dug out the 📷 to see life differently • “Every time I book a cabin getaway it feels as if I am switching out the playlist that helps colour my big city life.

Instead of cars, trains, chatter and shouting, I hit play on this new selection, where I find the silence of the first few seconds before a song begins.

With reverence I soak in the sounds of humming bugs, the odd crackle of a branch – but mostly, and most deliciously – silence.

Work and life has been hectic recently. Describing how I feel in this period I often refer to a cup that is always filled to the brim with water.

Small things allow you to tip some water out from time to time – a funny series, a good glass of wine with friends, a small cry – but the volume of water emptied out through these things is minuscule; and by the morning, or two days tops – you find yourself bubbling near the surface once more.

That’s why – when I saw an email from a company that specializes in cabin retreats just outside of Berlin to say that they had just launched a new location – I barely contemplated before booking two nights away over my birthday.”

This birthday is tagged under: slow life, alpacas, This birthday is tagged under: slow life, alpacas, local honey and pancakes, nature and the simple things ✨ a little look at my stay with @raus.life (wrote about it on the blog if you are curious)
31 I wasn’t overly excited about this one. But 31

I wasn’t overly excited about this one. But spending it in nature was a balm for any anxiousness or over-thinking on the topic.

It ended up being a very peaceful way to progress into another year 🌳

If you’ve had your eye on staying with @raus.life I wrote about my experience on the blog. Just check the link in bio ✨

On the way to work today I was seduced into this c On the way to work today I was seduced into this café I usually walk by, when I looked inside I knew I had to spend my morning working from there.

It was the kind of place that tells you to come in while you’re still objecting saying you’ve somewhere else to be. And before you know it you have a cup of tea in your hand and you are moulded into the sofa…

“This is a place I want to come back to and write my next book” I thought 📖 as I let the warm lighting settle into me, and I saw the focused faces of those on other tables.

Maybe that’s why the universe tempted me inside today. It’s saying: get on with it, will you? 😅

Writing this from another café where I’m currently eating lunch. Today is an ode the gemütlich (cozy) cafés of Berlin ☕️

Anyway to wrap up all things Paris I thought about some themes from the trip:

✨ Quality
✨ Craftsmanship
✨ Romance
✨ Intensity
✨ Beauty

Things I can take back with me to sprinkle and slowly fold into my life…

I want to know what the last place you visited brought up for you? Let me knoww 👇🏽😄💭

Story time: a little ode to the people we meet on Story time: a little ode to the people we meet on the road, on our adventures travelling 🧳

These connections make the world smaller. So every time you travel somehow there’s always have a friendly face to reach out to

When you have a short one to visit a city, you don’t always have the pleasure of slowly strolling and making decisions on where to go.

I knew this was the case for my 3 day trip to Paris. So I thought I’d reach out to three people to give guidance on where to go for guaranteed good music, bars or food

Ill tell you how I met them 💭

One is my delightful colleague who I met in Berlin and later moved to Paris

Another is a guy I met in a hostel while travelling solo in Bali, who already lived in Paris

And the last is a charming girl who took me for wine when I was travelling solo in Paris previously (I was staying in her flat - an Airbnb)

Some of these recommendations made our trip, I’m grateful. And somehow it‘s something I almost take for granted.

Is there someone you’ve met on the road who you’re still in touch with? Or helped you see a city from the eyes of a local…

I’d love to know, and how did you guys meet?? You can DM me if it’s cheeky 👀

Not a morning person so literally need two hours to get around to it 😅 but it is what it is
